good dark ripe berry that takes time to open up; more structure, which appears to be both fruity and oaky tannins, which are a bit bitter. Still interesting but not very enjoyable

Good wine. Dark qualities. Deep dark spice, some dark black cherry and earth. The palate is a bit austere on the back end and the finish shows massive tannin structure, big alcohol and lower acidity. A nice wine for the price. Haven't had to many Sagrantino bottlings, but this is decent at a fraction of the price of a Paolo Bea.

Hard bitter tannin over big fruit, good acid. Needs a lot of air to soften the tannin. Try again in a few years. Sagrantino fruit reminds me of Sangoivese, but hard to tell with the tannin in the way.
