Was so disappointed by a flabby bottle I opened earlier tonight that I was compelled to open another that I know had some reliable structure. This did not let me down. Dark opaque ruby. Intense flavors of black plums, blackberries, lavender, woody musk, earth, rosemary and white pepper. Extremely masculine and nuanced. Medium+ acid and supple tannins. Focused and inviting finish. Wish I had more in the cellar.
Still in prime drinking window. Lovely dark ruby red - just a touch of browning on the edge. Medium bodied, lots of red fruit (currant and cherry) with some briary and mineral undertones. Ends with a bit of tartness. Drink by 2020.
High neck fill and cork in great shape. Faint browning in glass. Excellent fruit and a very well made wine. Alcohol of 14% under control. A few tiny particles of sediment. Absolutely at peak now. Fortunately I have two more bottles. (Purchased in 2010 for $23.99).
