Red cherries, fresh and lively, with some mineral notes. Tannins are no longer prominent, but there is plenty of acidity and structure. Still early in the drinking window, with at least five years to go.

Ceretto Wine Club in NYC (Il Gattopardo): This is the barrique approach to barolo which I generally just don't quite buy into. It certainly makes the wine seem a lot bigger. More vanilla. Darker fruit. Just too much for my tastes. Perhaps with another 15+ years of age this will integrate, but it's far away from it right now.
