13.9% alcohol; imported by Folio Fine Wine Partners, the Michael Mondavi Family, Napa, California; real cork with maximum of 19 mm wine penetration, aroma of citrus & grapes; sturdy, medium weight foil; medium legs, dark purple/brown; nose of yeast, earth, stone fruit, rhubarb; opened, vinturied, and tasted 20 minutes later at approximately 19 degrees C; sourness and tangy-ness predominant over tannins, bitterness, and sweetness, but in a good way -- this wine has character and is a premier food-pairer -- try steak on the grill, cooked rare; notes of cassis (schwarzer Johannisbeersaft), rhubarb, cranberries, blueberries, citrus, some wood/vanilla, tannins remain subdued; medium to long finish with reminiscences of berries; the label describes the wine as a preservation of 'the purity and raw flavors of this place', the Uco Valley high desert 'with plenty of sunshine' at just over 900 meters; as music interprets life, this wine tells us about its terroir in another language

Balanced and straightforward. Creamy texture. Round fruit and adequate acidity to pair well with an array of foods. Held well into day 2.
