  Roagna Barbaresco Tasting (Gemma): Bright pale ruby, lots going on here, meat, darker fruit notes, liquorice, med body, high acid, probably the highest tannins amongst the 4 and darker, most masculine.

  Way young but these drink so well. Really pure fruit. Pale color. Supple, perfumed, dynamic, long.

  Infanticide
  P&p, at a walkaround tasting
  Immediately expressive on the nose with tar, sour cherries, balsamic, some lifted notes and unobtrusive wood
  Tart finish
  Quite full bodied with grippy but smooth tannins
  91 now but 93/94 potential with prolonged ageing

  The most overt and accessible of the 2016s. A textbook Barbaresco in all its details and attributes. Elegance, energy and a huge, shining floral core gather in precision and harmony. Woodland berries, red cherry, some candied fruits, pressed roses, sweet spices and a hint of tobacco and orange peel are carried by a solid, noble structure and finely woven texture. The 2016 Pajè is as radiant as the Pira, there is so much Roagna pedigree in these wines, expressed by a vintage that will bring out even more beauty and complexity in the future.
