Light ruby colour with some very slight browning at the rim.
Nose is not particularly pronounced with red fruit, some floral notes, a bit of wood.
Palate. Nice acidity up front and then strong but fine tannins that coat and dry the mouth. Quite a lot of spice, I presume from the oak, comes next and there is a hint of high alcohol in the mid palate. The oak and tannins dominate the fruit and floral elements somewhat. Medium finish.
Decent enough but this feels like it is too young. At the same time, it seems to lack the complexity to suggest it will change much with age. Perhaps better with food?
PS: Quite a bit better next day. Tannins are less overpowering and there is more strawberry and cherry on the nose. I still think it’s a bit one dimensional but will probably improve a bit from here with age. If you have any in the cellar, I would decant into a wide mouthed vessel 12+ hours before drinking

This wine feels terribly young in this company. Decent and young fruit on a more than decent tannic structure. Even if it's young, it did well with the pork.

Cellartracker in the flesh with Stefan, Mats & Tomas (Primo Yokohama, Yokohama): Medium minus intensity aromas of pretty ripe dark fruit; plums, a little earth, dried herbs, pot pourri, sweet spice. Medium plus intensity acidity, talc textured tannins are drying and persistent, a little okay spice, dark fruit persists showing the plums but also a little cherry, a little sweet spice. Interesting, simple but nice.

Lovely ripe fruit, oodles of crushed rose, some liquorice and tar. Plenty of complexity on the nose and palate. Intense acidity, almost too much but it’s just balanced by the flavour concentration, and smooth tannins. Decent length on the finish.
