Wonderful for the price. Classic red perfumed berry. Light structure from start to finish.
A tad muted in certain ways… the wine seems to pass through the palette in the sense that it has low tannic reaction, a light body and an almost perfumed nature.
Acidic, for sure. And with the berry perfume and acid, we have a great balance for a cool glass or for a meal pairing.
UPDATE: I am upping my score from 89 to 90. I enjoyed the remainder of this bottle with some delicious oyster mushrooms and salad, and also compared w the bow&arrow Pinot from last night.
With this food pairing the Rosso Pietro took the lead with another level of balance and poise. The Wilamette Pinot retained its song but it’s almost too sweet now, and crossing the line on the cherry cola front. Meanwhile this rosso has the same subtle elegance and seems less one dimensional across the palette. It is capable of performing across the range and showing more bravura then expected. High QPR.

Simple, and enjoyable with juicy red fruit and sweet chewy tannins. Medium-to-long finish of red berries, baking spices and sweet earth. Perfect pizza night wine.

bright translucent garnet, nose of berries, nice acidity and balanced smooth finish an E=Z drinker fresh and juicy but not grapy.
