Deep ruby color, bright red fruit on the nose. On the palate, lush, round dark red and black fruit - cherry, plum, blackberry - with some spice, licorice, and hint of pepper on the finish. There is some residual sweetness that is nicely balanced by medium plus acidity and fine tannins. Compared to blockbuster zins from Lodi or Paso Robles, the Hartford zin is more refined and stylish, reflecting the cooler climate of the Russian River. Nicely done.

All fruit and spice - Christmas in a bottle . A touch hot at 16.1% ABV, but overall fun and surprisingly food friendly. Popped and poured . Paired with pasta, meatballs and marinara .

Another wonderful Zin from Hartford. Opened about 30 minutes before starting to enjoy it. Plenty of fruit and depth, but not too jammy.
