Judging by the "tasting windows", there may not be many bottles of this remaining. That's too bad, because the bottle we had last night with dinner was stellar, and seemed to be at its absolute peak. Decanted and served after 30 minutes, it improved markedly over the next 3 hours. Lovely nose, The fruit was beautiful and still lively, the finish long, great complexity. Sadly, this was my last bottle -- and it was better than its predecessor, which we had in '20. Improbably at this very modest price point, the best Ribera I've had since an Aalto PS '01, and that one was definitely starting to show its age.
Spanish reds remain exceptionally good values. Moro's Ribera is a great example, as are the Riojas from Lopez Heredia, La Rioja Alta and Murrieta. Unlike Italy, where there is lots of fabulous wine being made but the pricing of wines from top producers has hit the stratosphere and prices from many well known and consistently excellent producers is drifting higher, you can still buy excellent Rioja and Ribera from major producers for $50 and elite bottlings for under $100. (Vega Sicilia and Pingus are extravagantly priced exceptions.) Obviously, restaurant markups vary and can't be compared with competitive retail pricing, but this wine blew away a 2012 Brunello Riserva we had at an excellent restaurant dinner (Casa Lever in NYC) a few nights ago, and that one was the "bargain" on the list at $212.

Served with grilled minute steaks. Did not decant. This wine is still going strong. Less fruit forward than other bottles, good acidity, modest tannins and good length. While this wine is at or near its peak, I would recommend drinking up in the next 1-3 years. I think it is beginning to lose a touch of its fruit.

6 years since my last notes(91 score). This is at it's peak at the moment. Well balanced, and delicious.
