This may change my mind about Sangiovese wines. This was a prominent but polished red. More sweet than my typical cab. Not really dry. Good mix of flavor and tannins.

Drank this next to the 2018. This one had plenty of ripe/juicy cherry but like most 17’s it had significant acid and tannin giving it a more rustic feel. Still really good after an hour decant.

Tasted from wine list at Italian Village Chicago for a fabulous, perfect food and wine pairing.
Dark Ruby colored, medium-to full-bodied, full round balanced blackberry, black cherry and black currant fruits with savory baking and clove spices with hints of licorice, tobacco and leather with smooth silky tannins on the lingering finish.
