Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, spices, pepper, olives, tar, minerals, dried herbs & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a good concentration of ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks well with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging.

80% grenache, 20% syrah. The very definition of funky, with a nose that makes me think of a provincial farm. It takes a lot of concentration to find the fruit hidden beneath. On the palate it's grain, herbs, mint, pine, with a little light red fruit. Really savory, a bit stereotypical "old world".
