  • Dark spicy Volnay fruit. Very Caillerets on the nose and palate. A bit dry on the finish at first, but with time, this really fanned out. Delightful. Next time I'll decant for at least an hour or two before consuming. Not a top Caillerets but enjoyable nonetheless. Drink now.

  • This is a wine that shows typical Volnay characteristics. It has a lovely nose of sweet red fruit, clove and mint. A very silky texture with very fine tannins. Long length. The only minor criticism is even though the wine has only 13.5% abv, it has a slightly alcoholic feel. Yet, if you want to know what a typical Volnay looks like, this is not a bad choice.

  • Much tighter than the Clos de Chênes and definitely more classic Volnay red fruit, chalk, and structure. Here the tannins are dustier, if fine grained. It never really fully blossomed, but as it opened it gained in weight and complexity, two things to look for in a young wine.
