Italian night @ Stappato (Enoteca Stappato, Leuven (Belgium)): Massive wine. Coffee, mocca, asian spice, black macerated fruit. Huge, impressive concentration, densely packed, almost clogged... I like my wines a little more transparant, elegant and focussed. But in it's modern, international, extracted niche, this is a very good wine.
Slow Wine Guide 2012 (Release tasting) (Metropolitan Pavilion): The nose showed moist fall leaves, pepper and dried strawberry. On the palate, it was soft as silk with dark red fruits and spice. The long finish was full of strawberry tones and herbal notes. This was a beautiful bottle after 13 years in the winery cellar.

(Podere Il Carnasciale Il Caberlot) From magnum - nearly opaque red violet color; tart plum, smoke, tar, tart blackberry, roasted black fruit, charcoal nose; tasty, black pepper, ripe black currant, mineral, tar, espresso palate with definition and near medium acidity, like a Cheval Blanc from a big year, like 2000; good now and should go 25 years; medium-plus finish
