Bold and juicy on opening. (From 375) This is quite approachable and delicious right now, and (hopefully) will gain a bit more complexity for the patient. YFS

From 375 Bright clear magenta ruby Pungent cranberry aromas Bright red fruit, hint of graphite, mouthwatering acidity, this is lovely and quite remarkable 92+. This particular half seemed quite approachable and hard to put down

Difficult to rate as we had just shared a 2005 Monte Bello and a Lopez de Heredia white, so it was a bit bullied, plus I only had about a glass and a half. But I'll say it was really lovely, if a bit primary and shy, and has a lot of potential upswing. Packed-in nose with a lot of raspberry preserve, dense and very fruity, but still firmly in the red-fruit camp. A bit floral too, for sure. Palate a lot more savory and even salty charcuterie and earth/mineral tones, lots of structure (although it's not coarse, just a cloud of fine tannin.) Interesting for sure, not a super attention grabber, but this will be VERY age-worthy. Feels packed to the gills, although that surprisingly "jammy" kind of fruit wasn't my absolute fave.

Jarringly autumnal fruit on the first sip - crimson tones, apple skins, not much flesh at all. Hard to imagine this the product of a sunny vintage. It got better with time in the glass, but not by finding a whole lot more fruit - it just came together pretty well in mouthfeel and shape, taking on a satisfyingly spherical form with a robust veneer. I don't know what the future holds for this. It could turn out nice in the end but I'm pretty confident it will go through a long period of being seriously closed and ugly before it gets there, if it gets there.

From half-bottle. Feels less balanced and well put together than other recent young Jadots. The fruit is incredibly primary and juicy with aromas that veer towards purple. Quite oaky and angular on the palate with the alcohol sticking out; missing integration overall. Unexpectedly soft tannins. Comes across as a rare whiff from Jadot.
