Interesting to learn that Ursules was Jadot’s first parcel. Too bad wine it’s still sleeping now and everything rather restrained and tight now. Not surprising for 2019 vintage it would seem.
Pale ruby in glass. Hints of complexity that took some time to release (and never totally did). Strawberry, cherry, hints of mushroom. Plenty of red fruit. Later violets and more strawberries and slightly more floral. Balance lacking on palate with restrained fruit overshadowed by alcohol. Wine has good acidity, good concentration. I would hold a couple of years before trying again.

Opened last night, this is finally coming around. On the black fruit side, this is filled with black cherry fruit in the nose. Pomegranate palate. Starting to show some real character it hasn't really revealed on previous occasions. Certainly could use more time, but with airing or a good decant, it is approachable. Color is translucent, no sign of age on the rim. Long life ahead. 5-12-16-9: 92/100.

Hallelujah. I have long Covid and one of the lingering symptoms is that about 3 out of every 4 pinot noirs have been undrinkable (the taste is something like nail polish and VA for me). So I stopped trying for about nine months. This was outstanding to me - I can't score it because about 90% of my experience was just sheer relief, but the rest was gawping. This is Burgundy? It's very powerful without being obnoxious, not meaty and not ethereal, just full-on flavorful and an all-senses experience. Terrific, and is going to last longer than I will.

Opened last night and drunk mostly the next day. I feel like WS really overrated this wine. Only once has my rating come close to theirs. Maybe the wine is just too young, but I'm really not sensing a lot here that I feel will be transformative. The nose is for me its best feature, and hints at better things to come, but this still is not as impressive as I was hoping it would be at this stage. In other words, similar to most of my experiences with this wine. 5-12-15-8: 90/100.

Opened to see if my long Covid has receded enough for me to taste pinot again. Nope. My wife said it was great. Oh well.
