  Colore rosso rubino con riflessi porpora trasparente. Naso etereo di rara raffinatezza ed equilibrio, con sottili note di ciliegia matura e lampone, note floreali di rosa e violetta, leggere note terrose e una parte speziata ammaliante, tra chiodi di garofano e un delicato pepe nero. In bocca è avvolgente, seppur snello - considerando l’annata generosa in Borgogna -, e con tannino vellutato. Si ritrova la stessa purezza di frutto che contraddistingue il naso, ma con anche più vigore e freschezza. Finale lungo e sapido. Chambolle è sinonimo di eleganza e finezza, e Barthod non sembra certo mascherarlo.
