  • Solid Gigondas wine, still a bit young but already very enjoyable. Varietal composition: a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre sourced from terraced vineyard plots at the foot of the ‘Dentelles de Montmirail’ mountain range. Maturation: aged for ten months in French oak barrels (partly new). Decanted: on hour prior to tasting. Color: deep dark ruby-red with a black core. Bouquet: powerful nose exhibiting scents of blueberry, cassis, dried herbs intermixed with notes of leather and incense. On the palate: a well-balanced medium- to full-bodied wine, plenty of rich bramble and plum fruit, with a serious depth, quite a gentle tannic structure and a finely integrated acidity. Finish: persistent aftertaste with a slight touch of graphite. Drinking window: the wine is deliciously drinkable now but has certainly a great potential to improve.

  • Rich dark Raspberry with Peppery Earthy notes. Soft on palate with good structure. Powerful fruit filled finish with hint of Herbs. An excellent wine at a value price that could even get better with some age.

  • {bought on a lark, decanted immediately at restaurant, sound cork} Rich, dense wine that will need a few years, but as Cave d'Argent points out a good decant now works wonders. Cascading fruit, not a lot of garrigue, with time clear there is good structure for the fruit to hang on. Liqueur elements, very promising thought young. Was delicious with great cheeses and Wagyu beef bourgogne at Chez Boet (3 stars dinner!) in Naples, FL. With a little age might well be 93+ --- best bottle I have had from this producer. 14.5% alcohol well hidden by dense fruit, well balanced.

  • This opaque crimson wine is an approximate blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre. Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing 2-3 hours, it is a medium-to-full-bodied red with dark bramble fruits, black cherries, Provençal herbs, clove, licorice and white pepper on both the nose and palate. Freshly acidic, judiciously oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (14.5%), it wraps its flavors with plentiful grippy tannins that will require some time to fully assimilate. Dense on the mid-palate and lengthy on the back end, this is an impressive Gigondas that will benefit from additional time in the cellar. Thereafter, it will have more longevity than most of its peers. If you opt to pop the cork at this early stage, give it plenty of air. Drink 2024-2032.
