Proof that ideal cellaring and a good Cork and our wines live a far greater distance than the experts give to them. The wine was seamless, still good fruit density and deep colour without any brick red ageing to be seen. Everything in harmony with a lovely long finish and no loss on the mid palate.

Great cork and wine high in neck. Still beautifully balanced fruit acid etc and I believe has years to go. Tasted over 2 nights as requested and the second night was even smoother and beautifully rounded in the palate.

Auswine Westie Offline (Pendle Hill): This is a deep red – pretty much the darkest wine of the night. This time the strong coconut oak is at least battling with some black berry fruits. Oddly, I found this very restrained on the back palate too – I was surprised that a wine of this age and apparent oakiness seemed very much a front palate wine in the mouth. There’s a whiff of eucalypt as well, and it’s not a monster wine by any means, thus it’s a genuine expression of Coonawarra. Very attractive.
