  • Where it lacks in color depth and glycerin compared to many 2020s, this wine makes up for in inner mouth perfume and energy. They managed to retain perfect acidity, which gives the aromatics an extra push at the finish that calls for another pour. The tannins are fine and the wood faint but noticeable still, but none of that interferes with the enjoyment. A beauty.

  • My favourite amongst a tasting of 6 Jadot reds and this was a beauty with lots of charm and drinking well at this time. Raspberries amongst the red fruits with everything in balance & put together well.

  • French option for the 2023 #InternationalPinotNoirDay was this Louis Jadot CM 1C - first ever encounter w this spectacular, young wine - super-fresh, all balanced & w supreme depth & fruit. Dark ruby, semi-translucent in the glass. The nose is completely brooding w intense & aromatic scents of red berries - wild raspberries, deep red cherries, a fair amount of forest floor, smoke & spice. Simply gorgeous. Come palate, Come further joy - intensity, juicy, vibrant, velvety & deep-fruited, closing bright & lengthy!

Bottle No 2 to enjoy a further 3-5 yrs.

  • Lovely and tasting sweeter today. The background of tannins and oak balance the very attractive cherries. I enjoy drinking this today for its primary fruit. Open a bottle soon to taste this beauty before it shuts down.

  • Very pure red fruit, cherries, in particular, and graphite. Lots of inner mouth perfume, tension, and energy from the moderately ripe but intense fruit and driving acidity. Very long, this should develop into a beauty. Having said this, I find the wine a little on the dry side for my taste. Still very enjoyable, but a little more fruit sweetness to support the great acidity, and this would have been spectacular. Don't touch for 8-10 years, as the wine is very tight, and the tannins are gentle but persistent.
