  • Silky smooth, mid-weight, lengthy and lingering taste that brings out the different flavors of the different varietals. Very enjoyable wine with a pleasing freshness. High quality wine worth seeking.
Typically Hendry is able to pick slightly less than two tons per acre of Cabernet Sauvignon and slightly more than two tons per acre for the other Bordeaux varietals in this blend, of which Merlot is the highest percentage at 28%.
Hendry ferments each of these five Bordeaux varietals individually and then barrel ages them all for one year. After the first year of barrel aging, the final blend is created before returning the wine to barrel for the final six months, which develops a more subtle tannic structure than a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine. Aged for a total of 18 months in French oak barrels, 70-75% of which were new.
