Interesting to try this 6-7 years later.... Darkening slightly, but not worryingly. Hazelnut honey almost white Rhone nose. But refreshing still on the palate, drink soon tho.

La Strada Sonia and Rob -- Much more fruity and less obvious oak this time. A big buttery fruity chard with oak, but balanced by a nice freshness and minerality. Honey, lychee and ripe peaches/tropical fruits emerge.

Argghhhhhhhhhhhhh! Oak monster! This would make the Rombauers blush! There is so much sharp new wood that I have a hard time finding fruit at all. Some tropical notes and ultra ripe fruit, but the oak just knocks you out! Update--day two--mellowed out a lot, the oak was much better integrated, suggesting this needs decanting if drinking anytime soon.

(Vougeraie Vougeot Clos de la Prieuré Blanc) Wide, ripe and fresh nose - this was, like the red, already bottled in September. The palate is plump, ripe and just a little exotic. Good length and quite some interest, but for my table I’d like a little more freshness.

Regular dinner group (@ EM): Strange bouquet. Organic. Apples. Yeasty. Same in the taste. Probably an off bottle. No score.

Vineyard Gate crab dinner -- showed well, the crowd loved it for sure. Rich and round but not cloying, good fruit and a great chard.
