Versatile and funky bouquet, which raises expectations of something special. The palate fulfills the promise, rich and full fruit, slightly funky, yet quite elegant, grandmother's blueberry pie, chocolate, smoke and more. Medium plus acidity lending fresh profile. Tasty, mouth drying finish. Ready to go now but has years left in it. Great that this prestigious producer has Dolcetto in its selection. No wonder that these are sold out immediately after release.

Dolcetto fermented with native yeasts, aged 12 months or more in large Slavonian oak barrels, 13.5% vol.
Enjoyed on a mild summer evening, cooled to 14°C, not decanted. It took 15 to 30 minutes to open. Showed dark berries, earthy notes and a suggestion of tar and funk, medium body and acidity, good length, 89+.
Very good classic Dolcetto in a nice place, superb match to our parmigiana di melanzane, can age for a few years, but there is no need to wait any longer.

Samples from Bill #3: Redcurrant, some chocolate and smoke on the nose. Palate is a nice mix of herbs notes along with the red fruit flavours. Has a bit more stuffing next to the 21 Burlotto Dolcetto but still feels nicely lithe and has the structure to age well over the next 4-5 years.

Great Dolcetto that is ready to go with a little air. A bit pricey though.
