Oof. Waited too long here, on a Barolo NOT built for the ages. Cooked, stewed fruit. Flabby. Not disgusting, but not worthy of the Barolo title, either.

She’s dead, Jim. Over cooked fruit that is now stewed and figgy. Brown edges and walnut stewed fruit flavour. Bottles were cellared perfectly. What a shame.

All strawberries, red cherried and truffles. Massive truffle inflected nose. Loses some of the truffle notes for cinnamon stick, nutmeg and tree bark as it breathes. Gorgeous. Can age a few more years, but just magnificent right now.

Colour : is still red/garnet. A bit of sediment. Aromas : Nice aromas, rich smelling (full) .......... floral notes (like dried roses), cherries, ripe plums, cinnamon and allspice. Taste : Medium Bodied ........ wow, the tannins are really present .... drying almost chalky and a bit chewy. A nice juiciness to the wine. Again ..... opens up with red cherries and ripe juicy plums. Definite cinnamon and allspice kick in the mid-palate to the finish. Some black tea and tar on the mid palate to finish as well. No heat at all from the alcohol.
Overall .... the tannins still dominate. But this does have legs to age longer ..... maybe another 3-5 years before trying another. But I like this . Gets better as it gets some air time. Delicious.
