The sugar and acidity are well-harmonized with each other, like an intricate bass line rumbling below the flavorful notes of pear, spices, and tart citrus, the wine crescendoing into a refreshingly long finish that has the bite and bitterness of lime zest and herbs.

Taste is light, with lemon and mandarin flavours coming through. Some crisp tart apple. Almost cider-like.
There’s an effervescent mouthfeel that is nice too.
We like sweet and dessert wines, and while this isn’t one the sweetness is welcome. 7.5% alc suggests it will be sweet and it is, almost at the line of too sweet, but good.

Von Schubert: 2021 online vintage presentation: *** Note is based on 0,1l bottles filled about 1 week before the tasting by the winery *** Glass: Zalto Universal Clear, pale lemon color. Clean, medium intense, some notes of spontaneous fermentation, way more balanced and elegant than the Herrenberg. Medium-sweet, high, ripe acidity, only 7,5% abv. Still a bit unbalanced and nervous. Citrus notes, spicy, salty, gooseberry. Very precise. Good tension and grip, very juicy. Long, salty and fruity finish. Too young. Give it 3-5+ years. 89++

Quite clean, has a decent body, some floral notes. Enjoyable. Good value for money.

Very pale golden colour in the glass
Citrus and muscateel on the nose.
