  A tasting with the owner of Macauley Vineyards. I have limited experience with this varietal but this wine was really impressive especially for the price point. Monster fruit - blackberry, blueberry, currants, and dark cherry. Really smooth with nice depth/concentration. Nice vibrant/rich flavors of dark berries, some spice, and cassis. Fairly long finish. Popped/poured but drank over a couple hours. Improved a little with time. Everyone was impressed with this wine and surprised by the depth/concentration in light of the varietal. A nice value at $55. Sourced from the Kenefick Ranch Vineyard.
