Initial sips on first day (and second) were bad, tasted like a cheap wine--flabby, uneven, bell pepper....wine gets better with more sips and definitely on the second day...starts to taste like blackberry, dark cherry, black currant--super smooth, elegant...at its best, it scores 91-92, at its worst, 86-87

Loaded with blueberries and cream, vanilla, cranberry, asphalt, Szechuan, milk chocolate and potpourri. Endowed and flowing, with a long finish that shows dark, warm fruit. Primary, but all of the components are in place. Cottony tannins and a well-strewn middle palate. Full-bodied, with a ton of polish. Very similar to Pingus, at 1/30th of the price. This is modern and sleek, with superb fruit from old vines. Amazing. Drink 2025 - 2038.

Only my 2nd Del Duero and very nice. Very different from Riojas. Blackberries, fresh medium-high acidity, jammy, juicy, fine grippy tannins. Not as earthy, rustic, and red fruit driven as Rioja Altas. Feels more modern than the old world feel of Rioja Alta.
I can see a lot of potential exploring Del Dueros but my initial take is it's very different from Riojas. I almost would've thought it would be American or Australian, not old world Spanish. More thoughts and exploration to come!

Drank too young unfortunately. Wait a couple of years. With that being said, the wine is still perfectly enjoyable. Flavour notes of chery, blueberry, warm spices and liquorice.
