In May 2022 I had a nice 2019 vintage - 92 points Let's see if this older cousin is any better 2 hours in the decanter 🕐⏰🕙 Well, this wine is proof, that certain wines have to wait. Like this one. 8 year old and delicious. But let's start with the weakest link, the same as the 2019 vintage I complain about. The smell. It's nice, but not too strong, not too well recognized. Tobacco, earth, forest, flowers, sweet red fruits. Forget about it. Taste? Do I drink Merlot or what?! Coffee, black chocolate, cocoa! But wait, there's more. Black cherry, red cherry, plum, orange (?!), blackberry, strawberry (!?). And important thing - great, vivid, live, fresh acidity. And perfect, a little bit grippy, a little bit of grainy tannins. And the most important thing - a very long finish with red fruits, acidity, spice, a hint of balsamic vinegar mixed with sweet notes of black fruits and chocolate! Crazy stuff. JS - 93 Peñin -93

Pleasure to come back to this vintage after more than a year. Feels slightly more rounder and softer. Medium+ ruby colour. Medium intensity aroma of blackberries, plums, tobacco, spices, cured meat and dried lavender hints. Medium body, soft and silky texture with medium light density, well structured fine grained powdery tannins, medium acidity, chocolate, spiced black fruit dry flavours.

SFH cycling weekend; 4/29/2023-4/30/2023: Short decant, probably would have benefited from longer. Felt very big in comparison.
