Decanted for about 30 minutes and this was singing, medium + body, dark read fruit and smooth as silk... forgot how good this was at the tasting. Really loved it

Decanted this one for about 45min and it was ready to enjoy.
On the nose, ripe red fruit, oak and vanilla. Initial sips were rich black cherry, blackberry, vanilla and oak. This opened up in the glass beautifully with notes of dark chocolate, pepper and coffee. Slight raisin/dried fruit notes on the finish.
Med+/full bodied, nicely layered sweetness, velvet tannins and very enjoyable mouthfeel. This is still young and has major aging potential. Would love to enjoy an older vintage of this one. Would sip again.

My first Amarone. I certainly see the appeal- although it was pretty "straightforward" (also very young), it was also really elegant, streamlined and very well-balanced in the way it showed its richness. Not nearly as raisin-like as I expected, which was a positive; just a ton of rich black cherry and chocolate, really like cherry cordial, both on the effusive nose and lingering palate. Maybe a little touch of sweetened coffee. Delicious and sexy. A very gentle wine, with soft, silky tannins and understated acidity; not flabby, just easygoing. I'm definitely interested to try others from higher-regarded producers as well as some with age.
