Quite dark for a barolo. Still young but opens up after a decant and some time and is a joy to drink now. Nice clean fruit, licorice, leather and tannins that has softened but certainly still present. I think this will improve further and the score might be on the consevative side.

One of the best Barolo's ive had for some time. Fresh acids on the attack, mid palate dominated by powerful tannins. Long finish dominated by licorice. Excellent complexity. Balance to the tannic side. I should probably have been decanting it for a while longer despite the 2004 vintage.

Still plenty of oak influence in the form of chocolate and cedar. Very enjoyable, although not particularly nuanced. I don't think there's any future upside to this. The fruit is still there right now, but the oak will long outlive the fruit.

The nose smelled like a chocolate-covered espresso bean and the palate tasted like a juicy cherry also coated in chocolate. Lots of chocolate and vanilla in this thing. Nice texture as well, but overall not really my preferred style. I want more freshness and some floral aromas in my Barolo. But at least it's interesting and well-made for what it is. Long finish.

Modern style, liquorice, menthol and tar, fruit more in the background. for me, the oak was not too dominant.
