  • Sunday dinner at Wimborne. Pop and poured. Drank in Riedel Pinot Noir stemless.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of boysenberries, ripe red berries, iron minerality. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of purple boysenberries, ripe red berries, violet juice, dark spices. Long finish with structure and serious iron minerality.
Village wine with stuffings and heft but really no longer my preferred style type. I have higher expectations for elegant class and sophistication from Vosne Romanee.
