  Amazing condition on this wine, especially considering the less than special (aside from being my birth year) vintage. Nose of toffee, dark cherry and chocolate; mercifully the initial torrefacted coffee notes subsided. Opens up with beautiful richness. Placed remaining wine into a half bottle, topped with Argon and placed in fridge, it was still singing the following day. Thanks John!!!!

  Wow, if there was ever proof of provenance, this is it! Tons of gorgeous coffee/caramel liqueur aromas with chocolate and mint taking form with a bit of air time. Full of sweet spices, red cherry remnants that show a certain lactic impression but with plenty of sweetness intact. Full and ample, still in this bottle’s evolution, as it is from stock that has never been moved. Soft and pliant in the mouth with coated tannins and appropriate acidity, given the vintage. Almost fudge-like.
