From a half. Medium tawny brown-orange color that is advanced for its age; nose has nutty, caramel, honey; palate has little sweetness, flat and lacking acidity, lacking fruit, simple; finish is short. This is overly mature, well into stage 4 sauternes (Bob Hudak staging) with nose>palate but clearly over the hill. I have little experience with Nairac, so I'm not sure whether this bottle was atypically advanced for their style at this age, but the color is definitely darker than a 1986 Fargues that I have (though my experience is consistent with other CT notes on this wine). Drink up now if you have it, would not recommend that you buy if you don't. 82

Still enjoyable, although this bottle was a little oxidized. Was gone about an hour after opening. Nice botyrtis nose with a bit of oak and caramel. Honey on the palate. Medium finish. Drink up.

From half; lean, crisp, orange peel and lemon, light oxidation, seems to have very little botrytis.

Monthly Tasting Group: Bordeaux (Levain, Mpls): I thought this was flat, done, and gone. OTH. low 80's.
