Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Pulled the cork, poured a taste, seemed ready, let it sit that way for 90 minutes until we drank it. A truly delicious bottle of northern Rhone wine. The nose is expressive and open, showing the classic array of dark fruit, black olive and pepper, floral, and slightly meaty notes. It's a subtly complex, but not a profound nose, accessible and pleasing - the fruit is ripe and fresh and lovely. Balanced and fine on the palate, with structure but no real tannic presence, and showing gracefully delicious flavors that are not very pungent, not even close to being explosive. Just delicious and ready-to-drink wine that expresses a sense of place. I bet it will improve in the bottle in the near-medium term, but this is 100% approachable now.
