Weekly tasting group #196; Northern Rhône vs Southern Rhône (@ RW): In the bouquet red berries, minerals, leather and some vanilla. On the palate juicy red and some dark berries, a touch of bell pepper, firm acidity and round tannin. Not extremely concentrated and a short finish. Ok wine though. Ready now and the next few years.

2007 France Trip - Yann Chave, Rousset (Northern Rhone): Two barrel samples. The first was very dark, with a nose of meat and soy. The palate showed dark chocolate, anise, smoky crushed blackberries, ink, and violets. The second was more structured and less aromatically open, with a strong soy smell/taste. Very promising overall.
