Still lots going on, but very funky, sweet, mostly tropical flavors with pineapple, lychee, some coconut. This falls into the more interesting than delicious kind of wine. My dining partners all quickly moved on to the red...
Despite all the stuffing, I think this is best drunk up soon as I think it will likely just get more and more disjointed.
a shame

To me, this was past its peak - funky, almost sulfuric aromas lead to an overtly sweet and heavy palate of tropical fruits and butterscotch that was way out of balance; I can now see why my local wine store was selling these at a closeout price of $23

i expected nothing from this wine, and i was pleasantly wrong! it is in a great spot right now with a bit of a chill. super buttery, with caramel, butterscotch, bananas foster, dusty cinnamon, and lemon meringue pie armoas. still relatively persistent in the mouth, where i expected it to be flabby and directionless. not a food wine, but still very tasty. i even enjoyed it on day 2! the aromas turned a little sweaty and funky and oxidized, but the palate remained in tact.
