Ramey's 2020 Rochioli Chardonnay offers New World fruit and Old World structure. Fermented on native yeast and subsequently allowed to undergo full malolactic conversion, it was aged for 20 months in Taransaud French oak barrels (20% new). Despite the malolactic fermentation and oak exposure, it is vibrantly acidic and has just the right amount of wood. Aromatically effusive, it offers rich scents of honeycrisp apples, Anjou pears, white peaches, lemon verbena, jasmine and allspice. Medium-bodied and without any heat from its 13.5% alcohol, it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, adding a nice touch of minerality. Layered on the mid-palate and lengthy on the finish, this is classic-quality in every sense of the term. It should have substantial longevity and will undoubtedly show lots of character as it evolves over the next several years. Tasted from a bottle that had been popped and poured, this was immediately expressive. Enclosed with a Diam 10 cork. Drink now-2035.

Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of stone fruits, pear, Myer lemon & some tropical fruit notes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, minerals, spices, butterscotch & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium body with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & tropical fruit with lemon curd, minerals, spices & oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks well at present although it should develop further with additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (94+). An outstanding Chardonnay well worth acquiring.

Honey, melon, peach scents with a touch of golden apple and herbal support. Fuji apple & lemon candy flavors move into Valencia orange on the long finish. Beautiful wine.

Pale straw color, with aromas of oak, orange blossoms, nutmeg and vanilla, and tastes of tangerine, white peach and Granny Smith apple. This is a real pleaser. Rich, elegant, juicy, medium-full body, with vibrant, bracing acidity, and a long, full finish, delightful! I wish I had more.
