(Emrich-Schonleber Monziger Halenberg Spatlese) This had a great nose right out of the gates of dense citrus fruits, stone fruits and breezy minerality. Some beautiful floral aromas developed after some brief aeration. The real story here was on the palate. Just a classic '06 Nahe wine from a top grower. This was stuffed with fruit. All sorts of tropical fruits in, dare I say, a hedonistic style. This stuff is just so damn easy to drink. The acidity balances out all that tropical fruit and there seems to be a hint of the cleanest botrytis imaginable. Could be there . . .also could not be there.

From a 375. Starting to turn savory. Rich, relatively low acid, but balanced enough to have a few glasses. Excellent with a Thai green curry.

Candied Meyer lemon and lime notes. Some honey and pear. Nice weight. Did well with Szechuan Beef StirFry

Pefect match to entrée dish with shrimp, mango, chilli, coriander etc, even though some acidy was lacking. Should be drunk not to warm.

Rich and full but carrying its weight well. Nice stony depth and power I tend to get in Halenberg with great purity-clarity, focus. Good balance of RS, fruit, mineral, and acid. The Nahe may be my favorite German region in 06. 92 pts
