slight notes of brett and horse stable upon opening, which then however dissipated quickly and the wine came well around. Nose of cranberries, black currant and pronounced pencil lead. On the palate notes of black cherry, black currant, ripe blueberry, chocolate and tobacco leaves, clove and iron. Beautiful mature bouquet on a very nice drinking plateau. Well balanced and very delicious

Cork needed the Durand. But came out in two pieces. A bit off-putting on first taste but quickly came around - even the color improved. Tasted mature but not old. Fruit still lovely, tannins very much softened. I think my “shot” at buying this at auction was very well rewarded.

Decanted for 15 minutes before 1st tastes. Pretty cherry red with a touch of bricking. Beautiful, soft rounded tannins. Little acid left. Top notes of graphite, cedar, hints of tobacco and rose water. Some red berries and a medium finish. Showed much better than prior bottles.

Ruby red with bricking around the edge. Cork was in very good shape. Decanted and let open for ~1.5 hours and then drunk over another 3 hours. Nose started tight and a bit astringent and dusty. Opened to a palette of kumquats, raspberries, currants and leather. First tastes were tight and a bit tannic. Then moved on to some red fruits that were behind opening notes of earth, cedar, leather and tobacco. A nice wine and a pleasant surprise.
