Quite fragrant on the nose; a mid-red colour; medium to full on the palate, which is savoury and tasting mature, but with a dryish finish. Perhaps not grand cru quality, but very good and suitable for current drinking.

A fairly deep colour, garnet with some brown. The wine is now probably as good as it ever will be, with quite rich fruit, somewhat savoury and with a hint of violets. The tannin is mostly resolved and the wine is now mature. A fine bottle.

Double blind. This is more wood than wine. The nose is all oak and while the palate mostly just creates a nice luge to slide the wine down your through, the finish has harsh oak tannins that are nowhere near integrating. Unpleasant to drink, and in a vintage like 2006 I have a hard time believing this will ever integrate. I think I called this a 2015 on account that it shows no age and refused to call a village because how would I know where the trees are from?

Day 1: Quite a dense, burly wine, but lacking a little charm. It tastes mature but may soften up further given more time. Perhaps 89/100.
Day 2: This is much improved. It has a bright, mid-red colour; the fruit has softened and is quite intense and long; it is still perhaps a bit burly, but it is a wine of substance and now just about ready.
Overall: Perhaps not really grand cru quality, but still a very good wine which will probably still benefit from more time.

Mid-red/garnet colour; red fruit flavours, cherry and raspberry, and some more vegetal character. Reasonable depth but a little solid and lacking charm. Quite a sturdy wine, but not particularly elegant and not really grand cru quality.

(Potel Nicolas Echézeaux) There is real depth on the nose - like the Gaudichots. More tannin providing extra texture, but there is a more open display of flavour over the palate. Showing much better than any of the Vosne Crus.
