Medium dark red with brown edge. Nose is tobacco, leather and bitter cherry. Very good concentration of dark to bitter cherry fruit, richness but a drying finish. It took nearly 3 hours for this to show some charming fruit in the mouth.

Rustic and drying. Absolutely not what you would expect. About the 4th bottle not performing near where it should. (Gerstl gave it 19/20 when I bought).
Drank at Darna on my birthday. Fully resolved and very easy to drink; maybe more advance than I expected. Just over two years since my previous bottle of this. Pale crimson red suggesting some age. Red berry fruit and earthy nose; the palate offered the same notes with almost no tannins. Well balanced and carried mostly by its viscosity and overall balanced. Decent finish. Enjoyable, but this bottle was not challenging.

Deep red. Rather restrained nose. Quite hard and unyielding with some rustic fruit but not much. With time it did not soften and really expected more. maybe another 7-10 years will change things for the better.

(Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans) Medium cherry red color with pale meniscus; nice tart red fruit, strawberry, sous bois and roses nose; tart red fruit, sous bois, rosehips palate; medium finish 90+ pts.
(Angerville Marquis d' Volnay Champans) Medium, medium-plus colour - like the Fremiet. The nose is like a blend of the previous two wines with a little extra high-toned dimension. Deep and forceful. The tannin remains a background element. Dark fruit and very long.
