How can this still be so good at this age? It's still quite dark with just a hint of bricking. The nose is blackberry but with a whiff of medicinal (alcohol?) but not unpleasant. Tastes of blackberry and that traditional zin flavor. Really nice - there must have been a time machine out there somewhere, this must be 10 years younger.

Drank this over two days and shared with several friends. Response was most positive on the second day. Full bodied but not mouth coating. Even though there was a distinct Zinfandel signature, the mixed Petit sirah and other grapes give this a mysterious darkness that allows for deep investigation with seemingly bottomless interest and pleasure.Very very good.

darker than the 05 Carlisle. deeper notes of sweet blackberry but also showing younger. back palate with some spicy and herbal touches. here there was a hint of alc but to me it was showing less and less with air. i would love to see how the last bottle shows in a year or two.

The nose alone was intoxicating, with spiced crushed blackberry, confectionary cream, brown sugar, vibrant purple floral and sweet herbal tones. On the palate, I found racy acid driven textures with notes of intense blackberry spice, and cleansing acidity, yet there's a hint of heat which detracted slightly from the experience. The finish was dry and floral with hints of wild berry lingering long.

Wow. This is very tasty for a 13 year old zin. Good balance of fruit and acidity. Wish I had more!
