Albany Tastevin dinner: Producer over vintage, producer over vintage. It doesn't show the power or aromatic breadth I'd expect from other vintages of this, but the quality and finesse here are striking with a core of bright red fruited flavours accented by layers of fresh and dried floral notes and savoury earthiness. A medium-weight, elegant wine that perhaps finishes a touch quickly on the back end, but still very impressive and a lovely wine.

A good and interesting wine but not great. It showed no signs of poor storage (a question since I bought this only two years ago) but didn't impress the way I had hoped it would. Fortunately I got it at a very good price - it was worth the gamble. It struck me as having plenty of life left.

This wine was showing hints of maturity, but it was amazing that in being open, in a glass for two hours, it was not falling apart. Lovely notes of spice, black cherry and asparagus, and showing enough intensity to tell me that it will last for many years to come.
