This is tasty; nose with ripe dark berry fruits, a whiff of oak, game, a hint of funk, and floral notes. The palate is fresh, vibrant, and delicious. Still a tiny touch of oak notable, but overall this is drinking well. The tannins were well integrated and the balance was good. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Clear ruby in color, cool menthol, spice and red fruit aroma. Bitter acidic on palate, tannin rough and grippy, too much oak and not enough fruit as balance.

Was interested to try this, as definitely from the new era of faiveley and some of the 2006s have had poor reviews. This was in good shape. There was a real hint of mint, eucalyptus on the nose. Nice balance and well integrated on the palate.

(LATRICIERES CHAMBERTIN Faiveley) Latriciéres Dear Friends, Today’s offer also falls under the “this is not a joke” series... The recent 2006 Faiveley offers have been even more popular than I imagined. A large number of you were shut out of the Porets and Vignerondes and while I apologize that additional quantities are unavailable, what I’ve come up this afternoon may be even better... Latriciéres-Chambertin, with perfect provenance, I’ve had this wine open for three days and it’s still on the ascent. While I'm not sure that it will take a full two decades to come around (as noted in Alan’s review), I have no problem making the claim that this is every bit as good as Faiveley’s 2005 Latriciéres (which sells for $200-300+) with an ageing curve that will be just as long. The truth is that they hardly produce Burgundy like this anymore – wine of a mineral-specific/physical stature that will gradually advance toward a certain majesty years down the road. It appears that more and more producers are crafting red Burgundy in a sweeter, rounder, more fruited and accessible style – not the case here. This is a very serious bottle of Grand Cru that is not only fairly priced, it would be a fantastic choice for a 2006 birth year as it will have no problem marching toward a 21st birthday: FIRST COME FIRST SERVED up to 6/person until we run out... ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price: 2006 Faiveley Latriciéres-Chambertin Grand Cru - (compare at $120-200+) To order: nicki@garagistewine.com This is not a long-term pre-arrival – it is set to arrive in the next week or two (please check OARS for local pick-up after May 10th). It will ship during the Spring shipping season (weather permitting). Out of state orders will be held for free under ideal storage conditions (56 degrees/70%humidity) until shipping is possible. Locals may pick up at their leisure. For current local pick up and arrival/ship information, please see your OARS link below (at the bottom of this offer) - don’t know how to access your OARS? i concur with the last note, but will add that even after being open for 4 hours, it was considerably better after aeration through a vintori
