Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • In the glass, the Fleurie Cuvée Tradition has a softly glowing, saturated ruby color, with flashes of purple blue. In a large, well-shaped glass, aromas of crunchy black and red fruit, including wild blueberries, red currants, mulberries, and rhubarb move in and out of the foreground, sometimes alternating with more fleeting suggestions of tamarind, charcouterie, and freshly turned loamy soil. On the palate, the wine is supple and generous, like a ripe vintage Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir, with mineral-laced red and black fruit flavors that echo the nose, adding orange pekoe tea, black truffles, and just-rained-on wet granite as the wine evolves in the glass. Then vibrant fresh berry acids and ripe fine-grained tannins punctuate the long mineral-saturated finish. Drink now–2030

This wine loves nothing more than a simply roasted chicken (get one from a good farm!). Also nice with simple roasts of beef.
