Didn't quite think it possible my last bottle would be even better than the previous 5. Rhone-like funky notes on the nose. Deep penetrating dark and damp. The palate is elegant, floral, with a sweet, cherry candy quality. There is just touch of acidity and sweet tannin. So drinkable! A helluva Cru Boo that just keeps tasting great to me.

Autumnal nose that smells of damp woods and sandalwood. Almost floral. Palate is full and round, a bit of acidity backing the viscous texture. Blind you might guess this as a Gevrey village wine. Very nice again.

Damn near stole the show amidst some stiff competition. Rhone-like funk on the nose. Deep penetrating dark and damp. Yet the palate is elegant, floral and nearly Burgundian. Has lost its youthful austerity. Floral, integrated, a nice touch of acidity. A helluva Cru Boo in a very good place right now. Excellent wine.

I blind tasted this tonight and actually, after a brief analysis, mistook it for a French Burgundy! I was surprised by the depth and character of this wine after five years. In appearance, the wine displayed a pale garnet and was pretty clear except for a bit of sediment. I was a bit surprised by the tinges of tawny that made it appear like a much older wine. The nose was quite complex displaying perfumed notes of sandalwood, burnt rubber, cedar. Indeed, it seems the fruit notes have faded a bit after bottle age, and the oak influence has become more dominant. The palate was again fairly complex, but a bit unbalanced, as the fruit is more recessed. Still, the wine has a light-bodied, elegant feel. The wine is very dry and shows medium acidity and very light tannins, with lovely toasted, nutty flavors with subdued notes of red fruit and a touch of sweet autumnal spice. Overall, it's hard to believe the Gamay grape is capable of this kind of complexity. This is a very good wine that has held up to cellaring pretty well, but the fruit is fading fast. Drink now if you have any left.

(Guy Breton Morgon Vieilles Vignes) This was very nice but not as good as the other three gang members. Elegant and ripe in a restrained style but still very pretty and pure. Juicy but could use more stuffing. Not that Morgon in general needs more stuffing but this wine in particular did need more stuffing.
