Wow, this is why we drink Burgundy. Every now and then elegant, mature bottles from top producers like this come along. Expressive and beguiling nose jumps from the glass with autumn leaves, sour cherry, whole cluster, leather and musk. The palate is elegant, bright acidity but also lots of sucrosité with a green kick from the stems. A great 1er Cru from superstar Ramonet. Luckily his reds are not as expensive as his whites.

Not quite as fresh as the bott we had a few weeks ago but again loaded with all sorts of decaying leaf and earthy traits. Sweet and vinous in the mouth with a slightly chewy texture and crisp minerally finish.

Surprisingly present. An unexpected pleasure to drink. Needed to sit in the glass for 20 minutes before opening up.

This wine really surprised me with herbs, spice, tea and dark fruit. Its rustic but drinking beautifully with a lot of elements.
