Nose: Powerful aromas on initial whiff. Berry, potpourri, spice, earth, flint and secondary scents of red plum. Very pleasant and intense.
Taste: Tart cherry, raspberry, vanilla, pipe tobacco, bright acid and integrated tannins.
Finish: Lingering cherry and vanilla. Very balanced now and certainly at prime. We have found that we enjoy Terra Blanca Onyx, much better as it gains a few years. This bottle was no exception.

Sampled this alongside several New and Old World comparables over two days. The aromatics are beautiful; the fruit captured the essence of Red Mountain. Over both days this wine was the most perfumed, akin to meadows of springtime wildflowers.
This was the most feminine of the wines on the palate. It features stunning elegance and complexity built upon a sturdy frame. It shows all the bouquet's aromatics, exceptional terroir, luscious fruit, and polished tannins. The finish captivates. A good friend took it for a Merlot blend rather than Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful wine!

Deep leather and cedar box nose, with a complex cassis and pepper taste, moderate tannins. While it is smooth and delicious now, would probably stand cellaring another 5 years at least.

Again, a splendid Bordeaux blend! Dry but juicy. It leans to old world but still has generous fruit. There's nothing not to like. The only thing that may be off putting is that it smelt a little like an evergreen forest until it had aired for a couple of hours. Perfectly integrated oak. Beautiful nose. Tastes better than it smells. Long........finish. Nothing not to love.
