  18c; no decant; dark ruby red; nose of must, wet moss, pine sap, stewed plums; brilliant attack, soft round tannins and plush black fruit fill the mouth, giving a long finish; black raspberries, stewed plums, pine sap, juniper, sage, bay leaf; lush, lovely; 18

  [Open bottles at Bloem Utrecht] although from a lesser vintage, this was the best bottle. Black fruit, ceder, earthiness, pencil shaving. Lovely

  sadly the last of my bottles - a lovely GPL, I very much prefer this to the 2006 - great value and a delicious wine for the vintage

  This was fine, albeit disappointingly lower than expectations! Felt a little advanced; lots of graphite/leather/earthiness/quintessential-tertiary-Bordeaux-things, but the fruit was skewed towards the stewed side, and it felt a little tired. Not brilliantly long or fresh, perhaps as a result of lower acidity (it’s ‘07, after all). Nothing wrong with it, just not as brilliant as other GPL vintages that I’ve been lucky to try.

  Medium ruby. Blackberry, blueberry, green pepper, violet, grass, vanilla, cedar, leather, mushroom and forest floor. Dry, medium acidity, resolved tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, maybe even a bit thin. Medium finish
