  • This bottle was very different than my last bottle and more consistent with a bottle consumed in 2015. Great aromatics with spicy currant, sous bois, smoke, and great acidity and tannin balance on the palate with currant, cinnamon, and strawberries. A lengthy persistent finish with great viscosity and mouthfeel.

Sad this was my last bottle but happy with the performance. A bottle that showed the 2003 Burgs still can be elegant and age worthy.

  • Has lost vibrancy since a prior bottle consumed about 2 years ago. Good notes of sous bois, fully integrated tannins, slightly flabby acidity, strawberries, Morello cherries, and notes of raspberry.

  • On opening this bottle exploded with classic sous bois aromas along with smoke and black cherries. The color is a dark plum.

On the palate this started with some sour cherry, an edgy acidity, and a bit of menthol. After about 30 minutes this started to come around losing the acidity edge. Very polished tannins with strawberries, black raspberry, and cranberry notes. Very smooth in the mid palate this finishes with a smoky minerality and subtle spice.

    Enjoyable now. Very nice.

Day 2 - half the bottle was stored overnight in the fridge. Remained solid and added a chalky finish. 90.
