Deep, inky ruby. Still tight on the nose only featuring its richness and depth with time. Mulberry and blackberry notes dominate while a charming edge of tar, leather and tobacco follow. The palate, all under a bitter chocolate frame, displays vivacious fruit with ripe, velvety tannins encased in a dense, thick texture. So well focused and concentrated with a long lasting finish. Has a long life ahead.
Very dark, almost black and opaque. Initially restrained, used some time in the decanter to reveal a lovely and elegant combination of black tea, black cherry, blackberry and nicely integrated high quality oak. On the palate it is full-bodied with rich fruit, firm tannins and balancing acidity. Aftertaste is long. An excellent wine that might improve even further over the next 5 to 10 years, but is already absolutely enjoyable.
